The Last Days of the Wild Elephant

Join renowned Green Fools Theatre as we tell the story of the “The Days of the Wild Elephant” through shadow puppetry. Create your own puppet and participate in the shadow play. “The Last Days of the Wild Elephant” is an exploration of material Green Fools Theatre is creating for our upcoming production “Elephant Song”, which will premiere in Calgary in the spring of 2013. Vi An Diep will accompany the experience on the Dan Tranh Zither, a traditional Vietnamese instrument. Dean Bareham will puppeteer and Shelley Carroll will work with you on the creation of your own shadow puppet. Written by Jennie Esdale with puppets built by Dean, Jennie & Shelley.

Established in 1991, Green Fools Theatre is a non-profit, charitable society that creates, performs, and teaches physical theatre arts focusing on masks, puppets, and stilts.

Each season, Green Fools Theatre hosts an infamous Halloween Howl and a family-fun April Fools Day Parade, we teach countless physical theatre workshops, and tour our puppet and mask productions, street theatre shows and stilt walking creations. We continually create new work and produce new theatre shows. Upcoming this season, ‘Elephant Song’, utilizing water, hand, life-size and shadow puppetry as well as live music.

Green Fools Theatre reaches tens of thousands of audience members each year through performances, community events, festivals, and creative training locally and internationally.
